What We Do
Mental Health Without Borders (MHWB) strives to create accessible and sustainable mental health services for all through education.
Most recently, MHWB has established a Volunteer Educator program to provide supplementary education for psychiatric residents in Guyana. MHWB recruits trained social workers and psychiatrists with teaching experience to deliver education via distance learning. MHWB’s Volunteer Educators support psychiatric residents by providing lectures, case studies and other educational activities. This program supplements the education received by psychiatric residents in Guyana and provides targeted learning on topics such as; substances use issues, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mental health disorders, etc.
As MHWB grows and expands, our goal is to replicate this sustainable, distance learning model to other countries that require supplementary mental health education for multi-disciplinary professionals and students.
